At many universities in Sweden there are "studentnationer" (student nations). At Lund and Uppsala universities the students have to be a member of a nation (it might change soon and isn't entirely true) and the nations are therefore pretty big there. At other universities the student nations are smaller, with fewer members and lower fees (and therefore other student organizations are bigger there).
